The population was 243 at the 2010 census. ==History== Kipton was once a stop along the Southern Division of the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railroad; however, the line was abandoned and pulled up in 1976. This line is now a rail trail, with Kipton at the western end of the trail, the (North Coast Inland Trail ). The path travels east from Kipton and then curves northeast, going through Oberlin and continuing on to Elyria. There is a small park in Kipton where the path terminates.
